THE MAN BEHIND THE ART
John "Petro" Petruska is a South Texas native and former tattoo artist with over 25 years of experience, including work for numerous celebrities. After a long career creating custom ink, he retired to pursue his true calling: full-time Christian art.
Today, Petro creates powerful, faith-inspired Jesus portraits and prints from his studio in Franklin, Tennessee. Working primarily in Procreate on iPad, he produces limited-edition, hand-signed and numbered prints that blend bold realism with deep spiritual meaning—often featuring the Shroud of Turin likeness, Lion of Judah, and Lamb motifs.
He sells these prints directly through his website and ships them worldwide, with over 2,000 sold to date. Petro shares his creative process, behind-the-scenes work, and spiritual reflections on X and YouTube as @petrowashere.
Married to Donne Clement Petruska, he lives a faith-first life centered on Jesus, family, and using art to glorify God and inspire others.
